Positive Parenting Awareness Month

The Santa Cruz County Board of Supervisors proclaimed January 2026 as Positive Parenting Awareness Month for the 14th year in a row.

This January, during Positive Parenting Awareness Month, we celebrate empowerment as the strength, courage and resilience that helps families grow and thrive. Join us in uplifting the power within every parent to lead with love, persevere through challenges, and inspire the next generation with compassion and confidence.
Participate in the 'Laid Back Book Club' (available in both English and Spanish) at participating libraries. Read the featured book as a family and share your thoughts inspired by the story using art supplies provided by the library.

Don't forget to enter your name in the raffle for books and prizes from First 5's Triple P – Positive Parenting Program!

Join us for a month full of fun family activities and Triple P classes that we hope will leave you feeling inspired as a parent and as a family.
